Yesterday marks as the last day of school for this year. For some reason, I was extremely happy; maybe because the past few days (or even weeks) has been down right frustrating and tiring. What’s left is just my exams and that’s why I have no time to draw or game.
Anyway, I found out something interesting throughout my downright frustrating academic studies.
Have you ever heard about the Teen Buzz or The Mosquito?
Apparently, it’s a high frequency (or was it pitch?) sound which only young people can hear. It’s been used to dismiss groups of youngsters without affecting the more older individuals or, as a secret message tone in class without he lecturer knowing. Apparently, when you age, you will lose some degree of hearing and your range of frequency will become narrower. It’s either because of that or due to chronic exposure to loud sounds.
I appear to be in the latter group because I actually can’t hear the sound quite well (plus, I’m not a teen, so). I can feel my ears straining to the sound but I have difficulty distinguishing the sound especially when there is background noise. But a friend of mine was literally screaming TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF at me because she can actually hear it in spite of people conversing in the background.
Truthfully enough, I do have chronic exposure to loud sounds because I often mask my hearing by turning on music at high volume. Firstly because I don’t want to listen to other people’s conversation, secondly, because hearing music at high volumes gives that ‘surround’ effect or something and thirdly, it actually motivates me to do whatever it is at hand – be it gaming, drawing or studying.
Anyway, knowing that I’m actually going deaf – as in sensorineural hearing loss – isn’t making me any happier; I’m actually more depressed haha. Since then, I’ve been trying to tone down my ‘surround’ music, but it’s gonna be quite a while before I get used to it.
Nevertheless, cheers.=-=-=-=-=-=-= Thanks for viewing~ Sorry for any wrongdoings of mine~ And have a nice day~ =-=-=-=-=-=-=
